Game 8237, Starchild vs. HoganS

 Germany 1

A excerpt from the Ukranian luftwaffe pilot and his panzer commander friend:

"Hey, are you alright?" said the luftwaffe pilot as he exited his plane after the Russian attack.

"Yeah, a couple of dings but this ole girl is just fine!". "I just heard on the radio that Moscow was EMPTY and ripe for the taking!"

"What difference does that make!!" Snarled the Panzer commander.

"Well, it wouldn't mean much but look due east and tell me what you see."

The Panzer commander gazed to the east and replied quite disgustingly "NOTHING, so what?!"

"Due east is the Caucusus, a sure way to MOSCOW!!" replied the increasingly elated but ever patient luftwaffe pilot.

"WAIT!!" yelled the Panzer commander, "if Caucusus is empty and so it MOSCOW.................."

He let his voice trail off but looked at his compatriot with a knowing grin. Yes, there would be pillaging in MOSCOW TONIGHT!!

EK ~ If I could just napalm this darn forest I'd be able to see those stinking trees!

First there was the Havoceur which was the brainchild of Quixande.  There were 3 issues, and I enjoyed Q's wit and skill as a writer.  I don't know why she never produced any further issues, but perhaps it wasn't meant to be a permanent fixture within IAAPA ~ then called the Online Axis and Allies Club or something equally silly.

JonHog must have enjoyed the Havoceur as much as I, for he reincarnated the MIA newsletter, and renamed it Havoc.  I made my first appearance in Havoc when Jon wrote something about a new illness, an addiction to A&A, and I was the first diagnosed case.  I couldn't see his point...I only had 17 active email games and 6 GM's at the time......what was the big deal?

When I went to visit Lord Pez and High Cmmdr in Salt Lake City for a few days of F2F- A&A we talked about the various happenings within IAAPA.  I had been helping HC as an adjudicator, and I hated it.  I don't enjoy looking at boards and trying to figure out what's going to happen ~ unless I am the one making it happen.  I was discussing this with Pez and HC, and as an example, I told them that I would much rather do something like write for Havoc.  I didn't think there was an opening available.....but by the time I returned to Las Vegas I was the new Knight Errant.  Over the next few days Errnt Knt and IAAPA Havoc were born.

I've had a lot of fun putting IH together, and trying to give a few chuckles to everyone, but I'm not sure that I can continue.  I'm disappointed in the drop in membership, which means a drop in readers, contributors, and material.  I debated whether I should keep plugging along, and if I really had the desire to do so.  My decision was forced by RL events ~ an opportunity which I couldn't reject.  I recently sent my resignation to the Executive Council, and then the other members of IAAPA's government, and this will be my final issue of Havoc.

I hope that you've enjoyed some, if not all of my efforts, and that there is one among you who is willing to take Havoc to the next level.

It's been a great ride.  Thanks to everyone.

To whom it may concern,

I recently received a letter from Polaris, lamenting the low attendance at the seminars. Always in favor of education, I wish to make a suggestion.   It's the packaging of the seminars,  your not using SEX to sell your product.  Try a couple of these titles, and watch the attendance skyrocket:

'SEX and it's influence on the Red Express'

 or

'How KJA could save the Pillow Girls of Nanking'

or maybe even

'Shuck Shuck ain't for Nice Girls'

Well, you get the idea. I hope it helps.

EK ~ IAAPA needs YOU, DeBruce.  What do you want....Havoc, or seminars?
