IAAPA Armchair General's Revue March 2, 1999

Ah..........the smell of Spring is in the air......that means no more snow......the Tigers have regained their mobility, the skies are once again full of single engine fighters, and huge plumes of smoke rise on the horizon............

It can only mean one thing.............time to play some Axis and Allies. 1. Send in them logs......you only get half credit for a win now until the log is posted .........winners get em in...

2. Convention is fast approaching, book them hotel reservations, and airfares......of course we don't charge you anything........let's see what you all look like, and have some fun playing face to face..............

3. We are now into the 5700's in sanctioned games played in IAAPA.......that's a tremendous amount of games........keep up the carnage....

4. Have you tried the GMless option of play?....I recently began playing GMless, using the dice server on our webpage.....it works fast and it's easy to use.....and you won't have to come up with a GM duty when you play this way......a word of caution to those "luck challenged".....that dice server sure can amplify your luck.....in my case lot's of bad...............seriously, I love using it.

5. Live players are you still out there? I haven't seen much live play in the AOL HQ, I guess the live gamers are using their CD Roms to play on the Zone...........beware, I hear it's about to go to a pay per play service soon....... From the Minister of Logs:

We are receiving about four logs a day. A big thank you to the members for sending in clean logs. Only about 1 in 4 needs any clean up at all. The newbies need the most help and are the most grateful when they finally get it right. Keep up the good work.

If you have sent in a log and do not receive credit for it after a few days send me a message. You can use the government section of the site:

Minister of Logs Handles the maintenance, verification and archiving of all game logs in the IAAPA -- Clyde (Crusader)

My name is a link. Just click on it to send a message.

Fun stuff from the logs. Check out game 5209. The allies won with what is referred to as the "Wake Push". If you haven't heard of it, maybe it would be best to find out from a log in the archives rather than in a game against an opponent who has heard of it. Logs can be found in the OnLine Stats section of the web site.

That's about it for this issue.......I'll probably crank out another in a couple of weeks...... until then may the dice gods be kind to you.
