ITSL (IAAPA Team Super League) RULES1. LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Example: Round 1 Team B emails the members of Team A with their rd1 players choice, Ken. Now the members of Team A discuss between themselves which player will face Ken. Team A decides that John will play. (perhaps John is of equal or higher rank or has previously played Ken). Ken and John will then contact each other, get a game number (sending it to the Commissioner of the SuperLeague at league@axisandallies.net ) and proceed to play their game. This constitutes rd1 between Team A and Team B. (The victor sends the result to the Commisioner at games end). *** Definition *** Post Season games: The top two teams of a division, determined by the results of the regular season, play the Championship Final series. ***************
2. ADJUDICATION Should any regular season games exceed the 10 month time limit they will be subject to Adjudication (see the web site tournament page for a full explanation of rules regarding Adjudication). (see also: How Adjudication affects individual awards section) 3. THE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
4. SEASON FIXTURE The season fixture (i.e. round by round matchups) will be released at the beginning of the season. Each round will have a start-by date of approx 3 weeks per round. This means that 30 weeks after season commencement every team should have no rounds left to start. 5. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY The IAAPA TEAM SuperLeague is restricted to PVT's and above. Hey, sorry about that Newbies! But it does give you added incentive to rise in the IAAPA ranks. 6. THE TEAMS
7. TEAM STRATEGY While a player is encouraged to seek advice from his team we hope that this will be the extent of the help that they receive and not a case of a more senior or dominant player monopolising the team and directing strategy so much that they are effectively playing all the games. As there is no way to police such practice it is up to the teams themselves to ensure that this does not occur. 8. FINDING A TEAM
i) A Forum in the IAAPA BBS (message boards) has been created as a meeting place for players to form SuperLeague teams.
ii) The SuperLeague Commissioner will also provide players with the help necessary to find / create a SuperLeague Team. 9. REPLACING TEAM MEMBERS - THE SUBSTITUTE
10. SCORING SYSTEM 2 points for a win. 11. TIE BREAKING
12. TEAM FORFEITS.
13. DISCIPLINARY BOARD Teams who forfeit at any time during the season will be called upon to explain their situation to the Disciplinary Board. Penalties incurred will be issued on an individual or team basis. Offenders may face a league ban depending on the extent of the offence. Players who do not contact the board when requested face an automatic ban from the league for a period determined by the board. 14. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS As well as the SuperLeague Championship Trophy, players are awarded medals for the following acheivements: Combat Badge (CB) - if a team member plays 3 regular season games then they must win all 3 games. If they play 4 regular season games then they must win 3 of 4 games. This must be done over the course of one season. i.e. If a player wins the last game of season ' 01 they cannot include it in season '02 as part of the CB requirement. CB's are obtained only by winning 3 games inclusively during a regular season. Note: Post season games are excluded. Bronze Star (Br/Star) - Winning 5 consecutive games (this may take two SuperLeague seasons) Note: Championship Final games are included Silver Star (Sil/Star) - Winning 7 consecutive games (Championship Final games are included) Congressional Medal of Honor (CMA) - Winning 10 consecutive games. (Championship Final games are included) Victory Medal (VM) - awarded to each team member of a Championship winning team (even if the team member lost their game in the final) Purple Heart (PH) - Awarded to each member of the Championship finalist team. 15. HOW ADJUDICATION AFFECTS INDIVIDUAL AWARDS The awards are based on league results...if the adjudication goes against you, then it counts as a loss not just in the team standings but your own personal league record...so no medal if you lose by adjudication but win in the end. A good incentive to get your game turns out! 16. USING TEAM NAMES FROM SEASON TO SEASON Teams can continue on from season to season using a particular name as long as there is at least one member from the previous season that is present in the current season. Example: Joe@, Fred@, Sally@ are in a team called "GI Joes" in season '01. In season ' 02 the "GI Joes" Team has Sally@, Warren@, and Alan@ as members, only Sally remains from the original "GI Joes" team. In Season '03 the "GI Joes" Team has Warren@ Alan@ and Terry@ as members - Sally@ the original member from season '01 has dropped out but Warren@ and Alan@ from season ' 02 are still present. 17. RETIRING A TEAM NAME Once a team cannot be linked by a prior season's member then the team name is thus retired and cannot be used by another group of players. The team name may be revived again by any of the former players at a later time. 18. GAME NUMBERS All game numbers, game results and inquiries should be sent to the League Commissioner at: league@axisandallies.net
